Delpha Hudson

Delpha Hudson is currently based in Cornwall with a studio in Penzance.

using a range of media her work creatively figures issues for women, especially natality and issues of motherhood. She has made and shown video, and performance around the country and Europe, including a commission for work at the Tate St Ives (Cornwall Art Now, 2006). Most recent performances include Place Settings with Nigel Bispham at Ca’Zanardi, Venice.

Since re-training as an artist in 1997, Delpha curated as co-director of Art Surgery many different projects including Arts Council funded site-specific performance for A Sense of Place (1999) and Tract (2005), and more recently creating Salon de Textes with CAZ.

Her current studio practice develops ideas from performance and the body, using objects, text and unusual media like bitumen paint. Delpha shows work in a variety of galleries around the country, often siting work in unusual spaces.
